Boys of summer.....

FAll is in the air, but wonderful memories of summer linger on.  These two young boys from Samson, Alabama, shared a late summer day with me recently and here is a slideshow to enjoy.

I photographed both of these boys in their childhood with formal portraits and beautiful heirloom clothing. Now their beautiful mother scheduled a portrait session to show who are are at this age....two little boys who spend the entire day outside, usually fishing in a nearby creek.

What is the best age for portraits of children?

I've often asked what is the best age for portraits of children.  I've been working and photographing children for the past 23 years!  I can't believe it's been this long, but it's been a wonderful and very fulfilling experience for me.

I really know that any age is the best age for portraits.  Can you think of any time you would not wish for a portrait at a certain age.  Our BABY COLLECTION program is a great way to schedule the baby's first year, and then after we suggest certain times for portraits.  One age that often gets left out in a childhood, can been the middle school age ( approx ages 9-14).  I love this age just as much a babies and toddlers, and these images Elizabeth remind me of this.

The beach....

Our family had the opportunity to visit in the Destin, Florida area this weekend, and the beach is just as beautiful as ever!  Here's is a sweet image of Megan from a recent portrait session in Grayton Beach.

Family Portraits...

The Stewart family visited us again and it's always a joy to work with them.  I've created several images of the children through the years, along with family portraits.  Derrick, the father, is a minister who recently started a new church in Andalusia.  The growth of the membership has been tremendous and I recently saw were they will be building a new building for their congregation.  Congrats to them and thanks for being such a great family!

Time for Senior Portraits.....

Schools are back in sessions, and now is the time to schedule Senior Portraits.  Here are just a few from a recent session of Bailey, from Jay, Florida.  I worked throughout Bailey's childhood, and it was such a joy to see her again.

My brother Robert photographs most of our Senior Sessions and this is an example of his work.  We get alot of requests for the drape image for the yearbooks, and also extend the sessions to include personalized portraits to capture the unique individual.  I really love the panel Robert designed for her with her cheerleading trophies.

Watercolour painting.....

There's something to be said about a beautiful child with red hair.  She is so adorable...I love her expression and the overall feel to her portrait.  This sweet family resides in Alaska, and hopefully, this portrait will always warm their hearts, especially during the cold winter months.  Thanks for sharing this lovely young lady with me and for the opportunity to paint her portrait.....
